We’re proud to share that Varden is now officially FSSC 22000 certified, a major milestone that reflects our commitment to manufacturing high-quality food-safe packaging for FMCG.
FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) is one of the most rigorous and globally recognised food safety standards, built on ISO 22000, ISO/TS 22002-4, and additional FSSC-specific requirements. It provides a robust framework for managing food safety responsibilities and is benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) – a key credential for supplying large global food brands.
To achieve certification, we underwent a comprehensive audit of our manufacturing processes, documentation, hygiene practices, hazard controls, and risk management systems. This includes everything from traceability and allergen control to cleanroom protocols and staff training.
For a company of our size, securing FSSC 22000 is a significant achievement. It typically requires years of system development and operational maturity, and is rarely seen in early-stage companies pushing material innovation. It reflects the strength of our systems and the dedication of our team in meeting one of the highest global standards for food safety.
As we scale production, FSSC 22000 gives partners and customers added confidence that Varden’s materials are not only sustainable but also food-safe and ready for commercial use.
We’re grateful to our team and partners who helped make this possible, and we’re just getting started!
